In this solo episode of Yoga Magic, we discuss the beauty of evening routines. Could they be the new morning routine?
With continued challenge and stress in our lives, stress management and adequate rest is more important than ever. Over the last several weeks, I have been exploring a number of techniques, listening to experts and studying the science behind strategies for quality sleep. I'm so excited to share what I've learned! In this episode, I share my current sleep routine, why I believe sleep is so key to our wellbeing and self-care, and some simple tips for each zodiac sign.
Evening routine tips for all!
Finish eating about 3 hours before bed to allow for adequate digestion
Turn down the lights in your house once it gets dark outside. Lean into lamps, candlelight and other warm light.
Take a bath or a shower about 1-2 hours before bed to allow your body temperature to drop triggering sleep hormones and drowsiness.
Put your phone away at least 1 hour before bed and avoid having it next to your bed while sleeping.
Read an actual book before bed (amber reading light mentioned here)
Evening Routine Tips for Each Zodiac Sign
Aries | Explore an evening self-study practice. For example, ask yourself a question and connect to your intuition to get the answer.
Taurus | Embrace comfort with all of your senses. Diffuse lavender, grab your slippers and sip warm tea.
Gemini | Grab a great book or visit with friend or loved one in the evening.
Cancer | Cancers love to be at home. Limit evening events outside of the home most nights of the week.
Leo | Commit to a workout or some type of movement most days to help with alleviate excess energy.
Virgo | Grab a journal for a brain dump or explore an evening meditation to calm your thoughts.
Libra | Be aware of what you're doing for others in the evening and commit to one hour for yourself.
Scorpio | Reflect on your day and acknowledge where you used your transformative energy for good!
Sagittarius | Embrace a spiritual practice before bed such as prayer or reading from a spiritual text.
Capricorn | Review your day and assess what choices you made you're really proud of. Celebrate!
Aquarius | Ensure you have a few minutes of alone time each evening, even from your partner.
Pisces | Listen to your sleep cues and take as much sleep as you need. Pisces thrive in the dream state.
